Sony has opened a public waiting list to buy PlayStation 5 – The Verge

Update August 18th at 4:00 PM ET: Sony has kicked off another restocking event, giving you another PlayStation 5 registry change. Click here to join the waiting list.

It’s been a minute since Sony last showed off the PlayStation 5 via its digital storefront. Last month, the company held public restocks for three days in a row, allowing anyone with a PlayStation Network account to line up online for a chance to buy one. And frankly, the recent restocking events were fairly easy to hack and take over from the console. So Now it’s time to line up, as Sony has restocking going on now.

Once you’re waiting in the queue and your turn (keep the volume up and you’ll hear it ring), you should be able to shop for a PlayStation 5 console and a selection of accessories and games. Although availability varies relative to previous restock events, it appears that Sony is currently only offering the disc-based PS5 for $549.99 with a digital copy of Forbidden horizon west. Sadly, while we’ve seen unbundled options for both the disc-based console and the PS5 digital edition in the past, neither is available at the moment.

However, if you don’t mind choosing a package, be sure to wait for the queue even if the estimated wait is more than an hour, that is, because many online queues expire before the estimated wait time is over. However, I wish you good luck getting your new PS5!
